The Maryland Youth Chamber Orchestra (MYCO) is open to middle and high school age musicians in all strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.  This is a unique orchestra program because it is a Chamber orchestra (so it is smaller than a regular sized orchestra) permitting the conductor to provide a high level of individual instruction and attention to each student.  MYCO provides study of the same orchestral literature performed by leading orchestras.  MYCO’s conductor brings over 25 years of professional conducting experience including his positions as Principal Guest Conductor of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra (Russia). He is also a guest conductor of the National Gallery Orchestra in Washington D.C. and he regularly appears as Conductor with the famous Donetsk Ballet Company. Mr. Vladimir is a Music Director of the COSMIC Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Soloists Chamber Orchestra in Washington D.C. and Johns Hopkins Chamber Orchestra. For the past seven seasons, Mr. Vladimir has been serving as a Principal Guest Conductor of the Bachanalia Festival Orchestra, New York.(vladimirlande.com)

Students in the orchestra will perform at least two concerts each season.  There will be opportunities for performances with talented guest artists, community performances, master classes and the availability for musical study abroad.
